These are the new horror games that launched from late September through October 13, plus the ones scheduled through Halloween. The top pick is Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival, at 95% positive on Steam from about 1,700 reviews, with Silver Pines (Metacritic 85) close behind and Remothered: Red Nun’s Legacy landing October 27.

This list sticks to new releases, so older favorites live in our Halloween games guide. I only list prices I could read in a source, and a few games had no price yet, so confirm on your store. Every date below appeared in at least two sources unless I say otherwise.

About the Buy on G2A buttons: they go to PC marketplace keys sold by independent sellers. Stock and prices change hourly, so check the seller rating and region first. Games with no G2A listing in stock have no button. Here is how to judge key stores.

Out Since September 26

Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival (Oct 8)

A first-person survival horror game from Saber Interactive and Boss Team Games where you use the Genesis Configuration puzzle box to rescue your girlfriend from the Cenobites. Steam lists $39.99 for the base game ($49.99 Deluxe) and is at 95% positive from about 1,700 reviews. Metacritic shows 75. Expect mature horror content. G2A’s Steam key listing was out of stock when I checked, so there is no button.

Released on: PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Switch 2

Best for: horror fans who want a big-budget licensed game.

Silver Pines (Oct 8)

A 2.5D survival horror metroidvania from Wych Elm and Team17, inspired by Twin Peaks. You play private investigator Red Walker in a dreamlike town, with puzzles, limited inventory and hand-painted visuals. Metacritic shows 85 from early critic scores, and GG.deals lists a regular price around $24.99. I could not read a Steam user score for it, so treat the early reception as a first look.

Released on: PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch and Switch 2

Best for: players who like slow, strange, Lynchian horror.

Invokyr (Oct 8, Early Access)

A co-op psychological horror game from Ludogram where up to six players are trapped in a house and forced to play a cursed 1970s board game. It launched in Early Access at $12.99 regular, with GG.deals showing 96% positive from about 180 reviews, and the developers expect roughly a year in Early Access. G2A has no listing for it.

Released on: PC

Best for: friend groups.

Paperhead (Oct 9)

A first-person boomer shooter and adventure horror hybrid set in a cardboard world, where you draw bombs and doors with a pencil. From Paperhead te4m and HypeTrain Digital. Steam shows $19.99 regular and 95% positive, but from only about 70 reviews. G2A has no listing for it.

Released on: PC (an Xbox Series version is also listed)

Best for: retro shooter fans who want a weird twist.

Valor Mortis (Oct 13)

A first-person soulslike from One More Level, published by Lyrical Games. It was delayed from September 24 to October 13, costs $39.99 for the standard edition, and is included in Xbox Game Pass on day one per Playnews. Wait for launch reviews before you buy. G2A’s Valor Mortis key listings were out of stock when I checked, so there is no button.

Released on: PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S

Best for: Soulslike fans who want a spooky setting, especially on Game Pass.

Silent Hill: Townfall (Sept 24)

From Screen Burn, published by Konami and Annapurna. It is a first-person psychological horror game set in 1996 Scotland, with stealth, melee and firearms. Metacritic shows 80, but Steam is Mixed at about 67% from roughly 3,400 reviews. Steam lists $49.99 regular.

Released on: PC and PS5

Best for: Silent Hill fans willing to follow critics over Steam.

Coming October 14-31

Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse (Oct 15)

Konami’s new 2D gothic action game, set in 1499 Paris and starring Rose Belmont. It is more monster-hunting than scares. A Switch version is planned for later. I did not find a base price. G2A has no listing for it.

Released on: PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC

Best for: 2D action fans who like gothic horror without the fear.

Tenebris Somnia (Oct 16)

A retro 2D pixel-art survival horror game from Andrés Borghi and Saibot Studios, published by New Blood Interactive. It tracks sanity and resources and uses live-action cinematics for the story. No price was listed yet. G2A has Steam key listings but they were out of stock, so there is no button.

Released on: PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch and Switch 2

Best for: fans of retro survival horror and live-action weirdness.

Escape from Playtime (Oct 21, Early Access)

A co-op survival horror spinoff of Poppy Playtime from Mob Entertainment, set in the abandoned Playtime Co. factory. You play as the Smiling Critters, scavenge for a mysterious Voice, and evade rejected creations, solo or with up to four players. It launches first in Steam Early Access, and I could not find a price. G2A has no listing for it.

Released on: PC (Steam Early Access)

Best for: Poppy Playtime fans who want to play with friends.

Remothered: Red Nun’s Legacy (Oct 27)

The final entry in the Remothered series from Stormind Games. Susan searches for her daughter at a decaying noble residence on Mount Etna, with stealth, survival horror and hypnosis-based mechanics. No price was listed yet. G2A’s Steam key listing was out of stock, so there is no button.

Released on: PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Switch 2

Best for: old-school third-person survival horror fans who want a Halloween-week release.

Dates can move. Re-check the store the week of launch.

Gary’s Take

Start with Hellraiser: Revival if you want the strongest audience score, or Silver Pines if you prefer atmosphere over action. Wait on Valor Mortis and Tenebris Somnia for reviews, and keep Remothered: Red Nun’s Legacy on your list for Halloween week.

A few other late-October horror dates (Athanasia, ASPIS and Penguin Colony) appear on only one calendar, so I left them out until they are confirmed. I have not played any of these, so everything above comes from store pages and press coverage.

Keep digging: more new-release roundups: new Switch 2 games, new cozy games, new PC games and new PlayStation games. For savings, see where to buy cheap game keys.
