New Switch 2 Games to Play – October 10, 2026

These are the Switch 2 games that launched from late September through October 9, plus everything scheduled for October 10-24, including Switch 2 Editions. The big one on the horizon is Final Fantasy Resonance on October 22, with Resident Evil 2, 3 and 4 a week earlier.

Every date below appeared in at least two sources (a release schedule, a publisher page or a trade report). Dates slip, so confirm on the eShop before you pre-load anything.

The Scroll in Brief

  • Already out: Kingdom Hearts Collection (Oct 8), The Crew Motorfest (Oct 8), Order of the Sinking Star (Oct 8) and Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen (Oct 9). I found no notable Switch 2 launch dated Sept 26 to Oct 7.
  • Oct 14-16: The Witch’s Bakery, Harvest Moon: Echoes of Teradea (Switch 2 Edition), Ratatan, Tormented Souls II and the Resident Evil 2, 3 and 4 remakes.
  • Oct 22-23: Final Fantasy Resonance, Nintendo Switch Sports Resort and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4.
  • Best catch-up pick: Hollow Knight – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, a free upgrade for Switch owners.

Out Since September 26

The first stretch of October is front-loaded with ports and collections. Nothing I could confirm landed between September 26 and October 7, so the action starts on October 8.

Ned’s note: Dragon’s Dogma 2 on a handheld is the headline for anyone who skipped it on other platforms. The Kingdom Hearts bundle is the better value play if you have never touched the series, since it collects most of the saga in one purchase.

Just outside the window: Minecraft for Switch 2 arrives October 27 (Gematsu), and Cities: Skylines – Expanded Edition lands October 28 at $49 with a 70% discount for existing Switch owners.

Still Worth Catching Up On

Hollow Knight – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition

Released February 5, 2026, with a listed price of $15, and Switch eShop owners of the original can upgrade for free (Nintendo Life, TechRadar). Team Cherry said the edition adds higher resolution and frame rate options. If you somehow never started it, this is the version to get.

Best for: anyone who wants a 2D adventure with a lot of game for $15.

Ned’s Take

If I could only pre-order one thing in this window, it would be Final Fantasy Resonance. The first HD-2D Final Fantasy is a safe bet for turn-based fans, and $49.99 is a normal price for a new RPG.

For value, the Resident Evil remakes are the sleeper. Three well-regarded games arriving on October 16, just in time for Halloween. I have not played any of these ports, so wait for performance reports on Switch 2 before you buy.
