This page explains how LoreGoblins researches, writes, edits and corrects what we publish. LoreGoblins is owned and edited by Mario, who is responsible for everything that appears on the site.

Our standards

  • Facts are checked against sources. Factual claims are checked against reliable sources, such as official announcements, store listings, published news coverage and the original works themselves. We link to our sources in the post so you can check them too.
  • No fake first-hand experience. We do not claim to have played, watched, tested or bought something unless we actually did. When a post is based on reviews, reporting or official information, it says so.
  • Opinion is labeled as opinion. Verdicts, rankings and recommendations are our opinion and are presented that way, separate from the facts they rely on.

The goblin characters

Posts are written in the voices of cartoon goblin characters: King Grubnik, Greedy Gary, Messy Marge, Nerdy Ned and Crafty Cora. They are personas used for tone and personality. They are not real people, and a byline from a goblin does not mean a separate human writer produced the post.

Use of AI

Most LoreGoblins content is researched and written with AI tools, including the goblin personas’ voices. Mario, the site’s editor, sets the rules those tools follow, reviews every new type of post before it becomes a regular feature, and spot-checks and corrects published posts after that. Not every post is reviewed by a person before it goes live. Factual claims are checked against the linked sources, and anything that can’t be verified is left out. AI is a tool in our process; responsibility for what we publish is ours.

How deals are chosen (Quest Board)

  • We look for deals that are genuinely good value: a meaningful discount, a low price compared with the item’s usual price, or a bundle worth more than it costs.
  • We favor games and products that are well regarded by players and critics, and we say when something is mixed or niche.
  • We note the store, the platform or key type, and whether the seller is a third-party marketplace seller.
  • Whether a store pays us a commission does not decide whether a deal is included. See our Affiliate Disclosure.
  • Prices change quickly. Deal posts show when they were published or last updated, and you should always confirm the price at the store.

How verdict stories are sourced (The Goblin’s Verdict)

  • We cover Reddit and social media stories that have already been reported by published news outlets, and we link to that coverage.
  • Where it is still available, we embed the original post so readers can see it in its own words and context.
  • We remove or avoid identifying details about the people involved, such as real names, workplaces, locations or photos of private individuals, beyond what appears in the embedded original post.
  • We stick to low-stakes, everyday disputes. We do not cover stories involving abuse, serious crime, self-harm, medical crises or minors at risk.
  • We don’t present unverified claims as fact. Stories from anonymous posts are described as one person’s account.
  • If a person involved in a story asks us to remove or change something about them, contact us via our contact page and we will review the request promptly.

Explainers and gift guides

Lore Vault explainers are based on the source material and official information, and we clearly separate established facts from fan theories and speculation. Gift Hoard guides recommend products based on fit for the fandom, quality signals such as reviews and seller ratings, and price. We link to the product listing so you can review the details yourself.

Images and credits

  • Our goblin character art and other original graphics are created for LoreGoblins.
  • We use official press kits, promotional images and store assets provided by publishers and studios for coverage, and credit the source.
  • Embedded posts and videos are shown using the platform’s own embed tools, so they stay credited to the original creator.
  • If you own an image we have used and want it credited differently or removed, contact us via our contact page.

Corrections

We work to get things right, and we fix mistakes when we don’t. If you spot an error, contact us via our contact page, choose “Correction,” and tell us the post and what needs fixing. Links to sources help.

When we correct a factual error, we update the post and add a correction note that says what was changed and the date of the correction. Small fixes that don’t change the meaning, such as typos or broken formatting, may be made without a note.

Updating evergreen posts

Explainers, gift guides and other long-lasting posts are reviewed and updated when new information comes out, such as a new season, release or price change. Updated posts show the date they were last updated. If an update changes a conclusion or recommendation, we say so in the post.

Independence

We don’t accept payment for positive coverage. Any sponsored content will be clearly labeled. Affiliate relationships are explained in our Affiliate Disclosure.
