This is a 2026 holiday gift guide for Pokémon fans: 15 real, currently sold gifts grouped by price, from $10 card tins to a $200 LEGO build. The short answer: if they own a Nintendo Switch 2, get them Pokémon Pokopia, and if they don’t, the new LEGO Pokémon sets are the safest big win this year.

Pokémon turned 30 in 2026, so shelves are packed with anniversary cards, the first-ever LEGO Pokémon line and a new game that critics loved. I’ve mixed official merch with a few handmade Etsy pieces from shops that make their own designs. Prices below are ranges, and they change, especially on cards.

The Scroll in Brief

  • Cora’s top pick: Pokémon Pokopia (about $60–70), a cozy town-builder that is Switch 2 only.
  • Best cheap pick: LEGO Pokémon Jigglypuff Concert (about $15), a real LEGO Pokémon set at stocking-stuffer size.
  • Best splurge: LEGO Pokémon Pikachu and Poké Ball (about $200), a 2,050-piece display build for adult fans.
  • Trading cards are hot and scalped. Pay close to list price (about $10 for a Mini Tin, $50 for an Elite Trainer Box) or skip it.
  • Several picks launch in October and November, so preorder or set a reminder.

Pokémon Gifts Under $25

Stocking stuffers, Secret Santa and “I just want them to smile” gifts. The big idea at this price: let them pick a favorite Pokémon, or give them something they can actually play with.

About $20 (out Oct. 30) · New players who want to battle, not just collect.

Cora’s note: Sitting Cuties are the Pokémon Center’s small plush line, made for a huge range of Pokémon, not just the famous ones. Buying their favorite obscure Pokémon says “I listen to you,” which beats another Pikachu.

Each Mini Tin holds two 30th Celebration booster packs, a sticker sheet and an art card, and there are ten tin designs to collect. The Battle Deck comes with a ready-to-play 60-card deck, a playmat, a deck box and a coin. That makes it a better “learn the game” gift than loose packs.

Which game should you pick?

Pokopia came out March 5, 2026. You play as a Ditto shaped like a human, building a town with Pokémon, so think Animal Crossing meets Minecraft. It has a Metacritic score of 89, which Wikipedia notes makes it the highest-rated Pokémon game on the site.

Legends: Z-A (October 2025) is the action pick: real-time battles in Lumiose City and the return of Mega Evolution. It comes in a Switch version and a Switch 2 Edition, so match the box to their console.

The handmade picks

Both Etsy picks are the shops’ own designs, not copies of official Pokémon art. BurdsWoodShop’s shelf holds graded slabs, one-touch cases and top loaders, and it can hang on a wall or stand on a desk. Sunbrilo’s tray is full-grain leather, rolls up small and can be personalized with initials. It ships from Poland, so order early.

About $130 and up · Serious collectors with a big stack of sleeved cards.

The Charizard set is an “All-in-One” SMART Play set. It includes two SMART Bricks and a charger, so the interactive features work straight out of the box. The Pikachu set is rated 18+ and stands about 13.5 inches tall, with a posable Pikachu and a Poké Ball that opens.

The wooden box from designcraftindustrie holds about 1,500 sleeved cards with 16 removable dividers, and custom engraving is available. That turns a storage box into an heirloom-feeling gift.

Before You Buy

  • Don’t pay scalper prices for sealed cards. The 30th Celebration Elite Trainer Box lists for $49.99, but resellers were asking around $150 on launch day. Know the list price, buy from the Pokémon Center, big-box stores or your local game store, and walk away from anything at double.
  • Switch or Switch 2? Pokopia runs only on Switch 2. Legends: Z-A has separate Switch and Switch 2 Edition versions, so check which console they own before you buy. Some Switch 2 physical games also need a download, so read the box.
  • Check LEGO ages. Eevee and Pikachu and Poké Ball are 18+ display builds. The SMART Play sets are made for kids. “Compatible” sets like Jigglypuff Concert only light up with a SMART Brick from an All-in-One set.
  • Mind the release dates. Mini Tins arrive Oct. 2, Battle Decks Oct. 30, Delta Reign Nov. 6 and the Deluxe manga Nov. 10. Preorder or set a reminder, because hot card products can sell out in minutes.
  • Handmade takes time. Etsy makers often need days to build and ship. Order by early December and check each listing’s delivery estimate.
  • Skip Etsy listings with official art. Shops that sell printed Pokémon artwork usually don’t hold the license. Pick original designs, like the ones here.

Cora’s Top Three

Top pick: Pokémon Pokopia

It’s the best-reviewed Pokémon game on Metacritic. It’s also the rare Pokémon game that works for cozy players who never cared about battling, so one gift can land with a kid, a parent and a lapsed fan. The one catch is big: it’s Switch 2 only. If they don’t have one, skip down to LEGO.

Best cheap pick: LEGO Pokémon Jigglypuff Concert

For about $15 you get part of the brand-new LEGO Pokémon line, with no scalpers and no guessing about pulls. It’s a real gift in a stocking, and if they get a SMART Play All-in-One set later, Jigglypuff will light up and make sounds too. Runner-up: a Sitting Cuties plush of their favorite Pokémon.

Best splurge: LEGO Pokémon Pikachu and Poké Ball

This is the anniversary-year gift. It’s 2,050 pieces, a Poké Ball that opens and a “25” worked into the base for Pikachu’s Pokédex number. It’s a long, satisfying build that ends up displayed for years, not tossed in a drawer. For a kid, trade it for the Charizard vs. Jolteon set instead.
