Free on Epic: TerraScape Is Yours to Keep Until Oct 15

TerraScape is free to keep on the Epic Games Store until Thursday, October 15 at 11 AM ET. It’s a cozy medieval city-puzzler from Bitfall Studios, Steam players rate it Very Positive, and Epic lists it at $16.99. Claim it once and it stays in your Epic library for good.

You build a kingdom on floating islands by placing buildings where they get the best bonuses, with no timer pushing you. It’s free alongside Out of Sight this week, and both claims end at the same time.

TerraScape launched on PC on July 17, 2024. Per its Steam page, you place your Keep, pick a deck of buildings and place them so each one benefits from nearby buildings, resources and the right biome, while avoiding negative influences. Earn points, unlock more buildings and draws, and watch a humble hamlet grow into a majestic metropolis. There’s no time pressure.

Best for: cozy-game fans who like optimizing a layout.

The loop is simple to learn and hard to perfect. Steam lists weekly challenges, randomly generated maps and several single- and multiplayer modes, plus a level editor and Steam Workshop support. Co-op and versus modes handle up to four players, and a recent update added crossplay between Epic, Steam and GOG with shared leaderboards.

Reviews and Price History

  • Steam reviews at time of posting: Very Positive, 89% of 2,252 reviews.
  • Critics at time of posting: no Metacritic or OpenCritic score listed on Steam, so user reviews are the guide.
  • Price history: free is the lowest price any game can have, so today’s Epic claim matches the all-time low. For comparison, Steam sells it for $7.49 right now (50% off $14.99), and Epic lists the regular price at $16.99.

  • You’ll like it if: you enjoy Dorfromantik-style tile puzzlers, cozy builders, or chasing a high score with friends.
  • Maybe skip it if: you want fast action or a story. It’s a calm optimization puzzle.
  • PC needs: Windows 10 x64, a GTX 1060 class card, 4 GB RAM and 2 GB of space (Steam’s minimum specs).

How to Claim It Before Oct 15

  1. Open the TerraScape page on the Epic Games Store and sign in (a free Epic account works).
  2. Click Get, then Place Order. The total should read $0.00.
  3. Do it before Thursday, October 15, 2026 at 11:00 AM ET (8:00 AM PT, 15:00 UTC). After that it goes back to full price, but anything you claimed stays yours.

Gary’s Take

Claim it. A Very Positive puzzler that still sells for $7.49 on a Steam sale, going for zero, is the kind of loot I don’t leave on the table. It’s relaxed, it supports co-op, and it costs nothing to own. The only way to lose is to miss the October 15 deadline.

Keep digging: Mechabellum, an earlier free Epic claim and more free games.
