These are the new Xbox Series X|S games that launched since late September and the ones scheduled through October 24. The top pick is Gears of War: E-Day, an Xbox and PC exclusive that launched October 6, with Final Fantasy Resonance and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 arriving next week.
Dates come from at least two sources, and I flag the ones where sources disagree. Prices are Steam regular prices where I could read them on a store page. Xbox Store prices can differ, so check the Xbox Store before you buy.
About the Buy on G2A buttons: they go to Xbox marketplace keys (GLOBAL region) sold by independent sellers. Xbox listings on G2A sell out often and prices change hourly, so check the seller rating and region first. Games with no G2A Xbox listing have no button. Here is how to judge key stores.
The Scroll in Brief
- Out now: Minecraft Dungeons II and The Witcher 3 Remastered (Sept 29), Gears of War: E-Day and Star Wars: Galactic Racer (Oct 6), Kingdom Hearts Collection and Hellraiser: Revival (Oct 8), Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen (Oct 9).

- Oct 22-23: Final Fantasy Resonance and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4.
- Game Pass: Xbox Wire’s Game Pass announcements name Gears of War: E-Day, Minecraft Dungeons II and Valor Mortis, but I could only confirm the headlines, so check the Game Pass page for tiers and launch-day timing. Activision says Modern Warfare 4 will not be on Game Pass at launch.
- Catch-up pick: Control Resonant, out since September 24.
Out Since September 26
Minecraft Dungeons II (Sept 29)

The dungeon-crawling spin-off returns. $29.99 on Steam, where it sits at Mixed (63% positive) as of October 10. Xbox Wire’s September 15 Game Pass post names it in the headline, but I could not confirm its tier. Check the Xbox Store for the console price.

Best for: anyone who never finished the original, and owners who should claim the free upgrade first.
Gears of War: E-Day (Oct 6)

Xbox Series X|S and PC, with no PS5 version, after an early-access window that began October 1. $69.99 on Steam, where it sits at Mostly Positive (78% positive) as of October 10. Best for: Star Wars fans who like short, repeatable racing runs.
Kingdom Hearts Collection [I~III] (Oct 8)
RPG Site lists October 8 for Xbox Series X|S, with 48-hour early access for digital pre-orders, which is why Pure Xbox shows October 6. Check the Xbox Store for the price. G2A has no listing for this collection on Xbox Series X|S, so there is no button.

Best for: action RPG fans who skipped the base game.
Gary’s note: Gears of War: E-Day is the easy pick if you already pay for Game Pass and have confirmed it is included. The Witcher 3 upgrade is free for owners, so it costs nothing to try again.

Valor Mortis (Oct 13)

A single-player first-person Soulslike with a Napoleonic horror setting, delayed from September 24. A Steam demo is out on PC. Xbox Wire’s October 7 Game Pass post names it in the headline; I could not confirm the tier from the page text. G2A’s GLOBAL Xbox key listing had no sellers when I checked.

Released on: Xbox Series X|S, PS5 and PC
Best for: fans of strange, story-heavy action games.
Greedy Gary’s Take
If I could only spend on one, it is Gears of War: E-Day for Xbox owners and Final Fantasy Resonance for everyone else. Both are the kind of full-price games that justify the console.
I have not played any of these, so treat this as a release guide, not a review. Wait for early impressions on the big October 22-23 launches before pre-loading.
Keep digging: more new-release roundups: new PlayStation games, new PC games, new Switch 2 games and new cozy games. For Xbox savings, see where to buy cheap game keys, this week’s free games and the latest Daily Loot Report.
