Space Engineers ($12 tier)

Space Engineers is a sandbox where you build ships, stations and vehicles in space, with realistic physics driving how they behave. Steam shows it at Very Positive, from roughly 67,800 reviews at time of posting.

Best for: builders who like designing machines and watching them work.

Gary’s take: a huge, well-reviewed sandbox in the $12 tier. That’s the main reason to step up from $6.

Besiege Master Engineer Edition ($18 tier)

Besiege is a physics sandbox about building medieval war machines and sending them into castles. The Master Engineer Edition is the version in the top tier. Steam shows Besiege at Very Positive, from roughly 23,400 reviews at time of posting.

Best for: tinkerers who love building something ridiculous and watching it work, or fall apart.

Gary’s take: the only game that needs the $18 tier, so skip it if you only want the sandbox and building pack.

Wobbledogs ($12 tier)

Wobbledogs is a pet-raising game about a litter of strange, wobbly dogs that change and evolve as they live. Steam shows it at Overwhelmingly Positive, from roughly 12,000 reviews at time of posting, and the regular Steam price is $19.99.

Best for: players who want something weird, cozy and low-pressure.

Gary’s take: the best-reviewed game in the bundle, and it’s in the $12 tier.

Instruments of Destruction ($12 tier)

Instruments of Destruction is a vehicle-building game where you design machines and use them to wreck structures. Steam shows it at Very Positive, from roughly 1,400 reviews at time of posting, and the regular Steam price is $19.99.

Best for: fans of building and demolishing in the same sitting.

Gary’s take: a Very Positive pick that makes the $12 tier look even better.

ΔV: Rings of Saturn ($6 tier)

ΔV: Rings of Saturn is a space-mining game set in Saturn’s rings, built around realistic orbital physics. Steam shows it at Very Positive, from roughly 2,400 reviews at time of posting, and the regular Steam price is $9.99.

Best for: players who like calm, hands-on space work.

Gary’s take: a Very Positive game in the cheapest tier. That makes the $6 start easy.

Gary’s Call

The $6 tier is a cheap start with a Very Positive space-mining game inside it. Step to $12 for Space Engineers, Wobbledogs and Instruments of Destruction, which is where the bundle really pays off. Go to $18 only if Besiege is on your list. Humble’s bundles run for a few weeks, so you have time to decide.
