Free on Epic: Out of Sight Is Yours to Keep Until Oct 15

Out of Sight is free to keep on the Epic Games Store until Thursday, October 15 at 11 AM ET. It’s an atmospheric horror puzzle-adventure from The Gang Studio, Steam players rate it Very Positive, and Epic lists it at $14.99. Claim it once and it stays in your Epic library for good.

You play Sophie, a blind girl who sees the world through her teddy bear’s eyes. It’s a short, spooky, single-player game, which makes it a great fit for a free weekend scare. It’s free alongside TerraScape this week, and both claims end at the same time.

Out of Sight launched on PC on May 22, 2025. You’re Sophie, a young blind girl who sees through her teddy bear’s eyes, trying to escape her captors and uncover the dark history of the mansion around her. The twist is the second-person view: you watch Sophie from the bear’s point of view and use that to avoid danger and find your way forward.

Best for: horror fans who like atmosphere and puzzles over combat.

How It Plays: Sneak, Hide, Solve

According to the Steam page, you explore the mansion, piece together its tragic past, and sneak and hide from relentless captors while solving puzzles. Sophie can’t see, so the bear’s view is your map, and the game leans on sound and senses as much as sight.

Reviews and Price History

  • Steam reviews at time of posting: Very Positive, 95% of 981 reviews.
  • Critics at time of posting: Metacritic score of 80, as shown on the Steam page.
  • Price history: free is the lowest price any game can have, so today’s Epic claim matches the all-time low. For comparison, Steam sells it for $6.99 right now (30% off $9.99), and Epic lists the regular price at $14.99.

  • You’ll like it if: you enjoy story-driven horror, stealth and puzzle games, and want something spooky for October that doesn’t need fast reflexes.
  • Maybe skip it if: you want multiplayer or a long game. It’s single-player only.
  • PC needs: Windows 10, a GTX 1060 or RX 470 class graphics card, 8 GB RAM and 5 GB of space (Steam’s minimum specs).

How to Claim It Before Oct 15

  1. Open the Out of Sight page on the Epic Games Store and sign in (a free Epic account works).
  2. Click Get, then Place Order. The total should read $0.00.
  3. Do it before Thursday, October 15, 2026 at 11:00 AM ET (8:00 AM PT, 15:00 UTC). After that it goes back to full price, but anything you claimed stays yours.

Gary’s Take

Claim it. A Very Positive horror puzzler that still sells for $6.99 on a Steam sale, going for zero, is the kind of loot I don’t leave on the table. Even if horror isn’t your usual thing, it costs nothing to own. The only way to lose is to miss the October 15 deadline.

Keep digging: Mechabellum, an earlier free Epic claim and more free games.
