Daily Loot Report: The Last of Us Part I Leads Wednesday’s Deals

Wednesday’s best game deal is The Last of Us Part I for $27.99 on PS5. That’s 60% off and the lowest price it has ever had on the PlayStation Store. Six more deals below clear my bar: games people actually want, cut by at least half or sitting at a record low.

Final Fantasy IX and Epic’s two free games end Thursday, October 1, the same day the Steam Autumn Sale starts. Everything else runs longer: the PS5 and Switch deals go to about October 7–8, and Far Cry 6 and Blasphemous 2 last into mid-October.

Today’s Loot: 7 Deals Worth Your Gold

$27.99, down from $69.99, is 60% off. It’s a digital PS5 purchase in Sony’s Autumn Adventures sale, which PSprices shows ending October 8 (UTC), the evening of October 7 in the US. You don’t need PS Plus for this price, and it includes the Left Behind prequel chapter. Price history: PSprices lists $27.99 as the lowest price ever, first seen on September 23, 2026, and GG.deals agrees, so today matches the all-time low. Reviews at time of posting: an 89 on Metacritic.

Best for: PS5 owners who never played it, and anyone who watched the HBO show and wants the original story.

Gary’s call: Buy, unless you already pay for PS Plus Extra, which includes it. For everyone else, this is the cheapest the PS5 remake has ever been, with a week to decide.

Final Fantasy IX — Steam

$6.29, down from $20.99, is 70% off. It’s a PC Steam purchase (Steam Deck playable), and the offer ends October 1. Price history: Steambase shows $6.29 is the lowest Steam price, reached several times since May 2025, so today ties the Steam record. GG.deals shows a keyshop once dipped to $5.31, but no official store has gone lower. Reviews at time of posting: Overwhelmingly Positive on Steam (95% of about 12,500 reviews, per GG.deals) and an 84 on Metacritic for this PC version.

Best for: JRPG fans who want a classic 40-hour adventure, and anyone who started with the newer Final Fantasy games.

Gary’s call: Buy. It’s one of the most loved Final Fantasy games for the price of a coffee, and the port adds speed-up and battle-assist options that cut the old grind.

Far Cry 6 — Ubisoft Store (PC)

$4.80, down from $59.99, is 92% off. The Ubisoft Store lists the Standard Edition at $6.00 (90% off), and code UBI40 takes another 20% off your cart at checkout. It’s a PC purchase that runs through Ubisoft Connect, and Ubisoft’s 40th Anniversary sale runs on its store until October 13. Steam and Epic have it for $5.99 until October 1. Price history: GG.deals lists $4.80 at the Ubisoft Store as the all-time low, a price it last hit about two years ago, so today matches it. Reviews at time of posting: Mostly Positive on Steam (70% of about 34,600 reviews) and a 77 Top Critic Average on OpenCritic.

Best for: open-world shooter fans and co-op pairs, since the whole campaign plays with a second player.

Gary’s call: Buy if you like Far Cry. It isn’t the best in the series, but a huge co-op sandbox for under five bucks is a fair trade. PC Game Pass members already have it, so they can skip it.

Blasphemous 2 — Nintendo eShop (Switch)

$7.49, down from $29.99, is 75% off. It’s a digital Nintendo Switch purchase, and Deku Deals shows the sale ending October 17. Price history: Deku Deals lists $7.49 as the lowest digital price ever, and GG.deals flags it as a historical low, so today ties the record. Reviews at time of posting: an 84 on Metacritic and an 84 on OpenCritic.

Best for: metroidvania fans who like dark art, hard bosses and a big map to pick apart.

Gary’s call: Buy. At $7.49 with more than two weeks left, there’s no rush, but there’s no reason to wait either.

The Rogue Prince of Persia — Nintendo eShop (Switch / Switch 2)

$8.99, down from $29.99, is 70% off. It’s a digital purchase, and the same price applies to the Switch 2 version. Deku Deals shows the sale ending October 8. GG.deals reports the game is at its lowest price yet on every platform, right after its free Anniversary Update landed on September 17. Price history: Deku Deals lists $8.99 as the lowest eShop price ever, so today is the all-time low. Reviews at time of posting: an 81 on OpenCritic, and 89% positive from about 2,400 Steam reviews, per IsThereAnyDeal.

Best for: roguelike fans who want fast, acrobatic runs they can play in short bursts.

Gary’s call: Buy if you liked Dead Cells: it comes from Evil Empire, the studio behind years of Dead Cells updates. Under nine bucks, with the anniversary content included, is the right price for it.

Castlevania Anniversary Collection — Nintendo eShop (Switch)

$3.99, down from $19.99, is 80% off. It’s a digital Nintendo Switch purchase with eight classic Castlevania games, and Deku Deals shows the sale ending October 8. Price history: Deku Deals lists $3.99 as the lowest digital price ever, so today ties the all-time low. Reviews at time of posting: an 81 on Metacritic and a 78 on OpenCritic.

Best for: retro fans who want the NES, SNES, Genesis and Game Boy era of the series in one place.

Gary’s call: Buy for the history lesson, and for Super Castlevania IV alone. Just know these are the old, tough games: Symphony of the Night isn’t in this one.

Astrea: Six-Sided Oracles + Mechabellum — Epic Games Store (Free)

Claim them on PC through Epic and they’re yours to keep. Price history: free is as low as it gets. Reviews at time of posting: Astrea is Very Positive on Steam (92% of about 3,000 reviews, per GG.deals) with an 87 on OpenCritic, and Mechabellum is Very Positive on Steam (84% of about 9,900 reviews). Next up, from October 1 to 8: System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster and Buried Stars.

Best for: PC players who like strategy and deckbuilders.

Gary’s call: Last day tomorrow morning, so claim both now. It takes 30 seconds, and they’re yours even if you never install them.

Humble Bundle Loot

Every Humble Bundle live right now, with tiles for Mega Man, Decked Out Deckbuilders, IGN 30th Anniversary, Trineverse, Indie Fears and more

Horror fans should grab Indie Fears: $13 unlocks all 14 indie horror games, including Mouthwashing and Buckshot Roulette, through October 15. The Gear & Glory Action RPGs bundle tops out at $12 with Wayfinder, Ghostlore and more, and the cozy Fall into Fall Fun-dle has eight games for $10, including Witch It and Mika and The Witch’s Mountain. Both run to October 17.

Gary’s Take

If you buy one thing today, make it The Last of Us Part I at $27.99. It’s a record low on a game with an 89 on Metacritic, and you have a week.

Only two deals here are in a hurry: Final Fantasy IX at $6.29 and Epic’s free games both end Thursday. Switch owners have until mid-October, and Blasphemous 2 at $7.49 is the pick there, with Castlevania Anniversary Collection at $3.99 as an easy add-on.

A word on timing: the Steam Autumn Sale starts October 1 at 10 a.m. PT. If a PC game you want isn’t on this list, check it tomorrow before paying full price anywhere. Not sure a deal is real? Run it through my deal checklist.
