Today’s Loot: 5 Steam Deals Worth Your Gold
G2A buttons below lead to marketplace keys sold by independent sellers. Prices change hourly, so check the seller rating and the key’s region before you buy. How to buy cheap game keys safely.
PlateUp! — Steam
$1.99, down from $19.99, is 90% off.
Cook and serve your dishes, design and decorate your restaurants, and expand your culinary kingdom with new unlocks, abilities and dishes in procedurally-generated locations. Classic cooking action with permanent roguelite progression. Hire your friends – or do it all yourself! Up to four players build and run a restaurant from scratch, choosing dishes, buying and placing appliances – some of which can be daisy-chained together to create ambitious automatic kitchens – cooking food and serving customers. It supports single-player, online co-op and local split-screen co-op, and Steam files it under action, casual and indie.
Best for: Friends who want a chaotic cooking and restaurant-building game they can play together, with up to four players.
Gary’s take: Buy. It’s a PC Steam purchase, and Steam’s page shows the price running through October 22. Price history: GG.deals lists $1.69 at Loaded (a keyshop) on April 5, 2026 as the all-time low, so today misses it by 30 cents, but $1.99 is the best official-store price GG.deals shows right now. Reviews at time of posting: Very Positive on Steam (95% of about 27,600 reviews) and a 73 OpenCritic top-critic average. Two dollars for a roguelike restaurant builder that thousands of players rate this highly is an easy yes.
Darkwood — Steam
$1.99, down from $19.99, is 90% off.
Darkwood – a new perspective on survival horror. Scavenge and explore a rich, ever-changing free-roam world by day, then hunker down in your hideout and pray for the morning light. Survive the horrors of the Darkwood as you explore the ever-changing world by day, and seek shelter to survive the night. It’s a single-player action, adventure and RPG game.
Best for: Horror fans who like tense top-down survival, scavenging by day and hiding at night, just in time for spooky season.
Gary’s take: Buy. It’s a PC Steam purchase, and Steam’s page shows the price running through October 22. Price history: GG.deals lists the all-time low as free (an Epic giveaway in October 2022) and $1.69 at Kinguin as the keyshop low, so today isn’t a record but is the best official-store price right now. Reviews at time of posting: Very Positive on Steam (95% of about 25,100 reviews) and an 80 on Metacritic. A well-loved survival horror game for the price of a gumball is the right kind of October deal.
Outward Definitive Edition — Steam
$1.99, down from $39.99, is 95% off.
No remarkable journey is achieved without great effort. In Outward, the cold of the night or an infected wound can be as dangerous as a predator lurking in the dark. Explore the vast world of Aurai solo or in Co-op. The Definitive Edition features both DLCs and quality of life improvements. The Definitive Edition delivers the ultimate experience for Outward players. It supports single-player, online co-op and local split-screen co-op, and Steam files it under RPG.
Best for: Fantasy RPG fans who want a harsher survival-style adventure, solo or in co-op, and don’t mind rough edges.
Gary’s take: Buy if the idea appeals. It’s a PC Steam purchase, and Steam’s page shows the price running through October 22. Price history: GG.deals lists $1.99 as the all-time low, so today matches the floor but doesn’t beat it. Reviews at time of posting: Mostly Positive on Steam (73% of about 31,500 reviews) and a 68 OpenCritic top-critic average, so it’s the most divisive pick on today’s list. The score is lower than my other picks, but at $1.99 the risk is tiny.
Neva — Steam
$7.99, down from $19.99, is 60% off.
Experience the moving tale of a young woman and her lifelong bond with a magnificent wolf as they embark on a thrilling adventure through a rapidly dying world. Neva is an emotionally-charged action adventure from the visionary team behind the critically acclaimed GRIS. It’s a single-player action, adventure and indie game.
Best for: Players who loved GRIS and want another short, gorgeous, emotional adventure from the same studio.
Gary’s take: Buy. It’s a PC Steam purchase in the LudoNarraCon Sale, which runs through October 15. Price history: GG.deals lists $7.35 at GameBoost (a keyshop) on September 30, 2026 as the all-time low, so today misses it by 64 cents, but $7.99 is the best official-store price right now. Reviews at time of posting: Very Positive on Steam (about 94% of about 10,800 reviews) and an 87 on Metacritic. It’s the priciest pick today, but a top-scored emotional adventure at under eight dollars is worth it before the sale ends.
Pony Island — Steam
Free to keep through October 12, down from $4.99.
Pony Island is a suspense puzzle game in disguise. You are in limbo, trapped in a malevolent and malfunctioning arcade machine devised by the devil himself. It is not a game about ponies. The devil detests having his puzzles solved and poor programming exposed; you will need to think outside the box to proceed and you will be insulted when you do. It’s a single-player indie game.
Best for: Puzzle and horror fans who like games that mess with the rules and don’t mind a short, strange ride.
Gary’s take: Claim it. It’s a PC Steam giveaway with about a day left, so add it to your library before the window closes. Price history: free is the lowest price a game can have, and GG.deals shows Steam’s $0 offer as active now, so today matches the floor. Reviews at time of posting: Overwhelmingly Positive on Steam (95% of about 14,800 reviews) and an 86 on Metacritic. It ends tomorrow, and free is free.
Free on Epic Until October 15
Epic’s weekly giveaway runs until October 15 at 11 a.m. ET. Both PC games stay in your library for good once claimed.
Out of Sight — Epic Games Store
Free to keep until October 15 at 11 a.m. ET.
You’re Sophie, a young blind girl who sees through her teddy bear’s eyes. Escape your captors and uncover the evil history of the dark mansion you desperately seek to escape in this unique, atmospheric horror puzzle/adventure game. Discover Out of Sight – A game with a unique perspective! It’s a single-player adventure and indie game.
Best for: Horror and puzzle fans who like a spooky mansion and a tense escape, played in short sessions.
Gary’s take: Claim it. It lists at $9.99 on Steam. Price history: free is the lowest price a game can have, so this giveaway matches the floor. Reviews at time of posting: Very Positive on Steam (95% of about 965 reviews) and an 80 on Metacritic. You guide a blind girl out of a creepy mansion using her plush toy’s eyes, and free is free.
TerraScape — Epic Games Store
Free to keep until October 15 at 11 a.m. ET.
Build gorgeous kingdoms on floating islands by strategically placing buildings in this cozy, medieval City-Puzzler. Discover secret combinations, take on weekly challenges and explore randomly generated maps in various single- and multiplayer game modes. Make yourself comfortable and build a gorgeous Kingdom in TerraScape. It supports single-player, online co-op, LAN co-op and online PvP, and Steam files it under casual, indie and simulation.
Best for: Relaxed puzzle and city-builder fans who like placing buildings on floating islands.
Gary’s take: Claim it. It lists at $14.99 on Steam. Price history: free is the lowest price possible, so this giveaway matches the floor. Reviews at time of posting: Very Positive on Steam (89% of about 2,200 reviews). It’s a calm medieval building puzzler with solo and multiplayer modes, and the price is zero.
Humble Bundle Loot
Checked October 11 on Humble’s bundles page. The Indie Fears Bundle is $13 for 14 spooky indie games, including Mouthwashing, Buckshot Roulette and Kiosk, with about three days left. The IGN 30th Anniversary Bundle is $15 for 7 games, including Subnautica and Remnant II, with about five days left. The Capcom Classics Bundle is $20 for 6 games, including Resident Evil and Dino Crisis, with about 19 days left.
Gary’s Take
Spend two dollars on PlateUp! today, then add Darkwood if you want a spooky-season survival game. Claim Pony Island before it ends tomorrow.
Everyone should also claim both free Epic games before Thursday. Not sure a deal is real? Run it through my deal checklist.
