Gifts for the Switch 2 Owner Who Has Everything
These are 13 gift ideas for the Switch 2 owner who already has the console, the controllers and half the eShop: collector pieces, books, storage and console upgrades, and a few big games they may have skipped. Prices are ranges as of October 2026 and change, so check the store page.
My short answer: skip another case and give something with a different shape: a LEGO Game Boy for the shelf, a Playdate for the desk, or a microSD Express card if their storage is full.
The Scroll in Brief
- Think “different from what they have”: collectibles, books and odd hardware beat another accessory.
- Switch 2 only takes microSD Express cards, so a bigger card is a practical gift (about $55-80 for 256 GB).
- A second Dock Set (about $120-125) helps with two TVs or two homes.
- Games are risky for duplicates. A Nintendo eShop card is safer.
- Prices are ranges and change often.
Collector and Shelf Gifts
LEGO Game Boy (set 72046)
About $60 · 421 pieces · ages 18+ · LEGO Super Mario theme
LEGO’s US page lists it at $59.99, marked available now with a limit of one per household. It is a display piece for adults, so it suits the person who already has every game and no more shelf space for controllers.
Best for: Nintendo collectors and nostalgic adults.
Playdate
About $230-250 · Handheld by Panic · black-and-white screen · crank
Panic lists Playdate at $229 plus taxes and shipping, with a pull-out crank and a low-power screen that turns into a clock. Its Season One games arrive two per week over 12 weeks. It is the least “more of the same” gift in this guide.
Best for: People who like odd, charming hardware.
Super Mario Encyclopedia: The Official Guide to the First 30 Years
About $45-50 · Hardcover · 256 pages · Dark Horse
Barnes & Noble lists it in stock at $45.99, down from $49.99. The title says first 30 years, so it covers the older games rather than recent ones, which is the point for a Mario history fan.
Best for: Mario superfans.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – Creating a Champion
About $45-50 · Hardcover · 424 pages · Dark Horse
Barnes & Noble lists it in stock at $45.99, down from $49.99. It is a large art-and-lore book for a single game, which makes it a stronger gift for fans of that game than for someone browsing.
Best for: Zelda fans who love art books.
Switch 2 Upgrades They May Not Have Bought
Samsung microSD Express Card (256 GB)
About $55-80 · Required card type for Switch 2 storage
Nintendo says Switch 2 works only with microSD Express cards and supports up to 2 TB. The card stores downloaded games, updates and DLC; save data stays in the console. Tom’s Hardware’s deal tracker (updated October 9, 2026) shows 256 GB Samsung and SanDisk cards at about $59 at major US retailers, with some Samsung listings near $80, so shop around. Buy a size that is a real upgrade for them.
Best for: Digital-game collectors whose storage is nearly full.
Nintendo Switch 2 Dock Set
About $120-125 · Dock, AC adapter, cables
Deku Deals lists a $124.99 MSRP for the Dock Set. At launch Nintendo described it as including the dock, AC adapter, USB-C cable and HDMI cable. A second dock means a second TV or a trip to someone else’s house without unplugging anything.
Best for: Switch 2 owners with two TVs or two homes.
Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller
About $85-90 · Nintendo first-party controller
Deku Deals lists an $89.99 MSRP and nearly identical prices at the major US retailers. Gift it only if you are sure they do not already have one, or if they mostly play in handheld mode.
Best for: Couch players and local multiplayer households.
Joy-Con 2 Charging Grip
About $40 · Charging grip for Joy-Con 2
Deku Deals lists a $39.99 MSRP. The link is to a price tracker, not Nintendo’s store. A good gift for someone who plays in tabletop or handheld modes and is tired of low batteries.
Best for: Players who use detached Joy-Con controllers.
Turtle Beach Stealth 500 for Nintendo Switch 2
Check current price · Headset listed for Switch 2
Turtle Beach lists this model by name in its Nintendo Switch 2 headsets. I could not confirm the price or the connection type from the page, so check both on the product page. If they already own a headset, skip this.
Best for: Players who want a step up from earbuds.
Games They May Have Skipped
If you are not sure what they own, check the console’s game list, ask a family member, or give a card instead. ESRB ratings below come from the ESRB site.
Mario Kart World
About $70-80 · ESRB E · up to 24 online racers
Deku Deals lists a $79.99 MSRP with most US retailers at that price. The ESRB rates it E with mild fantasy violence and notes users interact. Nintendo’s own page advertises races with up to 24 drivers.
Best for: Anyone who plays with friends or family.
Kirby Air Riders
About $50-70 · ESRB E10+ · released November 20, 2025
Deku Deals lists a $69.99 MSRP, with a Switch 2 physical copy as low as $52.99 at one retailer. The ESRB rates it E10+ for fantasy violence with no interactive elements. Local play supports 1-4 players, local wireless 2-8 and online 1-16 per the listing.
Best for: Racing fans who want something different from Mario Kart.
Donkey Kong Bananza
About $63-70 · ESRB E10+ · released July 17, 2025
Deku Deals lists a $69.99 MSRP, with most US prices from $69 to $69.99. The ESRB rates it E10+ for fantasy violence and lists in-game purchases. It is a 1-2 player offline game.
Best for: Platformer fans who like smashing things.
Nintendo eShop Card
You pick the amount · Works on Switch 2 and Switch
Nintendo says eShop cards can be redeemed on Switch 2. If you honestly cannot guess what they own, this is the least risky choice here.
Best for: When you cannot risk a duplicate.

Cora’s Top Three
My top three for the person who truly has everything: the LEGO Game Boy for the shelf, the Playdate for something new to play, and a microSD Express card because nobody turns down storage. If you want to stay under $50, one of the Dark Horse books fits.
Before buying a game, find out what they own. A quick question to their partner or a glance at the console’s game list saves a return. I have not tested any of these myself; the notes above come from manufacturer pages, store listings and the ESRB site.
