Monday’s best game deal is Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun at $3.99 on Steam, 90% off its $39.99 price. Today’s Loot: 4 Steam Deals Worth Your Gold
Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun — Steam
$3.99 on Steam, 90% off its $39.99 price. The Steam page does not list an end date, so treat the price as short-term.
Shadow Tactics is a tactical stealth game from Mimimi Games set in Japan around the Edo period. You command a small squad of specialists and plan silent takedowns in real time. Steam lists it as single-player.
Best for: Strategy and stealth fans who like solving a map like a puzzle, and anyone who wants a long, polished game for the price of a coffee.
Gary’s take: Buy. CheapShark’s lowest recorded price is $1.99 from February 1, 2022, so $3.99 misses the floor by $2.00, but a $40 game at 90% off is still easy to justify. It is Very Positive on Steam (94% of about 9,100 reviews at time of posting) with an 85 on Metacritic. I did not verify a current G2A price, so the G2A button is only there for comparison: check the seller rating and where the key can be activated.
Injustice 2 — Steam
$4.99 on Steam, 90% off its $49.99 price. The Steam page does not list an end date, so treat the price as short-term.
Injustice 2 is NetherRealm’s DC superhero fighting game, with a story mode, online and local versus, and gear you level up for each hero. Steam lists single-player, online PvP and shared-screen PvP.
Best for: Fighting-game fans, DC fans, and anyone who wants a couch-versus game for friends.
Gary’s take: Buy if you like fighters. CheapShark’s lowest recorded price is $3.70 from November 18, 2022, so $4.99 misses the floor by $1.29. It is Very Positive on Steam (85% of about 6,900 reviews at time of posting) with an 86 on Metacritic. I did not verify a current G2A price, so that button is for comparison only (check the seller rating and key region).
Middle-earth: Shadow of War — Steam
$4.99 on Steam, 90% off its $49.99 price. The Steam page does not list an end date, so treat the price as short-term.
Middle-earth: Shadow of War is an open-world action game from Monolith Productions built around the Nemesis System, where the orcs you meet remember how your fights went. Steam lists it as single-player.
Best for: Tolkien fans and open-world action players who like a game that reacts to their wins and losses.
Gary’s take: Buy if the premise grabs you. CheapShark’s lowest recorded price is $2.49 from June 27, 2024, so $4.99 misses the floor by $2.50, and you can wait if you are patient. It is Very Positive on Steam (88% of about 37,000 reviews at time of posting). I did not verify a current G2A price, so that button is for comparison only (check the seller rating and key region).
Green Hell — Steam
$2.79 on Steam, 90% off its $27.99 price. The Steam page does not list an end date, so treat the price as short-term.
Green Hell is an open-world survival sim from Creepy Jar set in the Amazon jungle, where you craft, hunt, fight and gather to stay alive. Steam lists single-player and online co-op.
Best for: Survival fans who like a punishing, realistic jungle, alone or with a friend.
Gary’s take: Buy. CheapShark’s lowest recorded price is $2.06 from September 19, 2025, so $2.79 misses the floor by 73 cents, which is close enough not to wait. It is Very Positive on Steam (85% of about 27,500 reviews at time of posting) with a 78 on Metacritic. I did not verify a current G2A price, so that button is for comparison only (check the seller rating and key region).
Free on Epic Until October 22
Epic’s current free pair, Bad Cheese and Agent A: A Puzzle in Disguise, stays free to claim until October 22 at 11 a.m. ET, and the games are yours for good once claimed. Claim on the Epic free games page.
Bad Cheese — Epic Games Store
Free to keep on the Epic Games Store until October 22 at 11 a.m. ET (it normally sells for $12.99).
Bad Cheese is a short psychological horror game inspired by 1920s animation, published by Feardemic. It has a creepy old-cartoon look and is meant to be played in one sitting. It is PC only.
Best for: Horror fans who like a short, strange, vintage-cartoon scare in the run-up to Halloween.
Gary’s take: Claim it. Free is the lowest price a game can have, so this giveaway matches the floor, and a short spooky game for nothing is an easy add. I have not checked its Steam reviews yet, so I am not quoting a score.
Agent A: A Puzzle in Disguise — Epic Games Store
Free to keep on the Epic Games Store until October 22 at 11 a.m. ET (it normally sells for $19.99).
Agent A: A Puzzle in Disguise is a spy puzzle adventure with a colorful, retro 1960s look. You play a secret agent tracking down a dangerous spy named Ruba La Rogue, solving logic and inventory puzzles to catch her. It is free on PC and mobile.
Best for: Puzzle and adventure fans who like clever, point-and-click style problem solving.
Gary’s take: Claim it. Free matches the floor, and a stylish spy puzzler is worth a spot in your library. I have not checked its Steam reviews yet, so I am not quoting a score.
Humble Bundle Loot
Per our Humble roundup, the Best of Humble: Indie Fears bundle is $13 and ends October 21, with Mouthwashing, Buckshot Roulette and a dozen more indie horror games. The Capcom Classics Bundle is listed through October 30 with Resident Evil, RE2 and RE3 Nemesis from $10, and Hamble’s Fright or Fight runs until November 5 from $6. Confirm the end date on Humble before you buy.
Gary’s Take
Spend $3.99 on Shadow Tactics, which is the best-reviewed game on the board, and grab Green Hell at $2.79 if you like survival. Injustice 2 and Shadow of War are fine buys at $4.99 but sit above their lowest recorded prices, so they can wait if you are patient. Claim both free Epic games before Thursday.
