LoreGoblins may earn a commission if you buy through links on this page, at no extra cost to you. How we make money. Today’s Loot: 4 Steam Deals Worth Your Gold
Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun — Steam

$3.99 on Steam, 90% off its $39.99 price, with the sale running through October 26.
Shadow Tactics is a single-player stealth tactics game set in Edo-period Japan. You command a small team of specialists, including a samurai, a ninja and a sniper, and sneak them past patrolling guards across big, detailed levels. You can pause the action, line up several moves at once and then trigger them together, so a plan comes together in a single clean sweep. The look is painterly and the missions are long, tense and very satisfying to crack.
Best for: Strategy and stealth fans who like planning every move, in the spirit of the classic Commandos games.
Gary’s take: Buy. The record low on GG.deals is a free Epic giveaway from November 2022, so $3.99 is not the floor, and GG.deals lists Fanatical at $3.19 at time of posting, but 90% off is a deep cut for a game that normally costs $39.99. It is Overwhelmingly Positive on Steam (96% of about 38,500 reviews at time of posting) with an 85 on Metacritic and an 83 OpenCritic average, and a stealth-strategy standout at this price is an easy yes. Marketplace keys on G2A were about $3.72 at time of posting, so the savings there are small.
Enter the Gungeon — Steam

$2.99 on Steam, 80% off its $14.99 price, with the sale running through October 22.
Enter the Gungeon is a fast bullet-hell dungeon crawler where every run is different. You pick one of a band of misfits and fight down through randomized floors packed with gun-toting Gundead and big bosses, dodge-rolling through walls of bullets as you go. You can play solo or team up with a second player in co-op. It has a bright pixel-art look, a huge pile of ridiculous guns to find and a lot of replay value.
Best for: Duos and roguelike fans who want quick, tough runs with a friend or alone.
Gary’s take: Buy. GG.deals lists a free Epic giveaway from August 2020 as the record low, and $2.99 matches the best paid price I can find right now (Epic is $2.99 too). It is Overwhelmingly Positive on Steam (95% of about 90,000 reviews at time of posting) with an 84 on Metacritic and an 84 OpenCritic average, and a co-op shooter this loved for three bucks is hard to pass up. Marketplace keys on G2A were about $6.47 at time of posting, so Steam is the better price today.
Celeste — Steam

$4.99 on Steam, 75% off its $19.99 price, with the sale running through October 24.
Celeste is a single-player precision platformer about Madeline climbing a mountain, and the doubts that follow her up it. You jump, dash and wall-climb through hand-built screens that are tough but fair, and checkpoints come quickly so a failed jump never costs much. An optional Assist Mode lets you tune the difficulty, and the pixel-art style and soundtrack are a big part of the charm. It is a short, focused game with a lot of heart.
Best for: Platformer fans and anyone who wants a challenging but kind game with a story that sticks.
Gary’s take: Buy. GG.deals lists a free Epic giveaway from December 2019 as the record low, so this is not the floor, but $4.99 is a fair sale price for a modern classic. It is Overwhelmingly Positive on Steam (97% of about 148,700 reviews at time of posting) with an 88 on Metacritic and a 92 OpenCritic average. Marketplace keys on G2A were about $3.73 at time of posting if you want to shave off another dollar.
Lost in Play — Steam

$3.99 on Steam, 80% off its $19.99 price, but the sale ends on October 15.
Lost in Play is a single-player point-and-click puzzle adventure about a brother and sister who slip into a world made from their own imagination. You solve puzzles and mini-games to get past goblins, giants and other strange characters, and the story is told almost entirely through pictures instead of words. The hand-drawn cartoon style looks like a Saturday-morning show. It is gentle, funny and easy to play with someone watching along.
Best for: Puzzle and cozy adventure fans, and families who like to play and solve together on one screen.
Gary’s take: Buy before Thursday. GG.deals lists $3.99 as its best official-store price ever, so today matches the floor, but the sale ends October 15. It is Overwhelmingly Positive on Steam (98% of about 9,500 reviews at time of posting) with an 82 on Metacritic and an 85 OpenCritic average. Marketplace keys on G2A were about $12.48 at time of posting, so skip those and buy it on Steam.
Free on Epic Until October 15
Epic’s weekly giveaway runs until October 15 at 11 a.m. ET. Both PC games stay in your library for good once claimed.
Out of Sight — Epic Games Store

Free to keep on the Epic Games Store until October 15 at 11 a.m. ET (it sells for $9.99 on Steam).
Out of Sight is a single-player horror puzzle adventure from The Gang Studio. You play Sophie, a blind girl trapped in a dark and dangerous mansion, and you see the world through the eyes of her teddy bear, which you pick up and aim in an unusual second-person view. You solve puzzles and sneak past threats to find a way out. It’s a tense, story-driven game with a creepy storybook look.
Best for: Horror and puzzle fans who like a spooky mansion and a tense escape, played in short sessions.
Gary’s take: Claim it. Free is the lowest price a game can have, so this giveaway matches the floor. It’s Very Positive on Steam (95% of about 965 reviews at time of posting) with an 80 on Metacritic, and a clever, creepy horror game for nothing is an easy add.
TerraScape — Epic Games Store

Free to keep on the Epic Games Store until October 15 at 11 a.m. ET (it sells for $14.99 on Steam).
TerraScape is a cozy city-building puzzle game set on floating medieval islands. You draw buildings from a deck and place them to score points, growing small villages into thriving cities. There’s no time pressure, so you can plan every placement at your own pace. It has a single-player campaign plus online multiplayer modes, with a bright, relaxing look.
Best for: Relaxed puzzle and city-builder fans who like placing buildings on floating islands.
Gary’s take: Claim it. Free matches the floor. It’s Very Positive on Steam (89% of about 2,200 reviews at time of posting), and a calm building puzzler with solo and multiplayer modes at zero dollars is worth a spot in your library.
Humble Bundle Loot

The Indie Fears Bundle is $13 for 14 spooky indie games, including Mouthwashing and Buckshot Roulette, and it ends at midnight ET on the night of October 14. The IGN 30th Anniversary Bundle runs $5, $10 and $15, with Subnautica at the $10 tier and Remnant II at $15, and it ends at midnight ET on the night of October 16. The Cozy After Dark Showcase Bundle is $8 for five games, including Paradise Killer and The Darkside Detective, or $12 for ten, and it runs through November 2.
Gary’s Take
Start with Lost in Play, since its sale ends Thursday. Then spend four dollars on Shadow Tactics, which is the best value on the board, and add Enter the Gungeon if you have a friend to play with.
Everyone should also claim both free Epic games before Thursday morning. Not sure a deal is real? Run it through my deal checklist.
